Synthroid contains levothyroxine sodium as the drug ingredient. It is prescribed to manage and treat hypothyroidism and thyroid disorders such as hypochitromyia, hypopituitarism, and thyroiditis.

Synthroid is usedto manage and treat certain symptoms of hypothyroidism such as excessive and painful thyroid tests, difficulty in concentrating, and poor libido. It is also used to treat symptoms of infertility problems (such as low sperm count and poor sperm motility) caused by unexplained infertility and to help relieve symptoms of depression associated with depression, including depression-like ideations and feelings of sadness and loss.

Levoxyl is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4). It is normally prescribed to treat thyroid disorders as follows:

  • Hypothyroidism in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone
  • Rest of Abnormalities: These disorders include enlarged thyroid glands (such as in men and women with a history of thyroid cancer or thyroiditis due to exposure to radiation orrays); abnormal thyroid secretions (such as in men and women who have had thyroid surgery); and infertility problems including poor sperm motility, poor sperm morphology, poor sperm motility, low levels of luteinized (avorable) cholesterol, low levels of white blood cells and natural killer (NK) cells, and poor sperm motility.
  • Thyroiditis: These disorders include inflamed and weakened thyroid glands that can cause painful, infrequent, or delayed testicular pain, pain in the neck, swelling, and difficulty in conceiving.
  • Tremors: These disorders include muscle weakness, tenderness, or cramps that develop suddenly or due to a fever, illness, or injury.

Levoxyl is used in conjunction with other HRT therapies including H2 antagonist medications (such as desipramine, oral levothyroxine, and desipramine-idepressants such as desipramine-SSRIs such as imipramine-IPRISR).

Dosage and Administration:Levoxyl is prescribed to be taken by mouth with or without food. It can be taken with or without food. The dosage and timing of doses for treatment of hypothyroidism and infertility can vary depending on the patient's medical history, symptoms, and individualized monitoring requirements. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and administration instructions provided by your healthcare provider.

Levoxyl should be taken at a time when your thyroid gland is producing and releasing estrogen. It should be taken with a meal, not more than 2 hours before your scheduled thyroid hormone treatment. Levoxyl is also used with certain other HRT therapies such as hormonal contraceptives (such as ethinyl estradiol, andestrogen rings), in order to help stop ovulation (such as in women who have regular menstrual cycles); in women with a history of uterine cancer; and in cases of unexplained infertility and unexplained infertility combined with other medical conditions, unexplained infertility, unexplained infertility and unexplained infertility.
